We're in B*eijing!!!

Ni Hao!! We made it safely to B*eijing. The trip was awesome!! Ok, the 12+ hour flight was difficult, but we enjoyed every bit of it! Everyone has been so nice! And all of our flights went really rather smooth. AWESOME!!

Chad posted our updated for Kathryn's blog, but I must be feeling the 'need', because I'm up posting this!

Thank you to all who have signed the guestbook! I really wish you could have seen the huge grin on my face after 24 hours of travel to get back to the hotel and to be able to read those! Thank you so much!! We feel so blessed! Thank you!! Keep them coming!! ;-)

We met a really nice 73 year old woman yesterday, Miss Maelyn, who was traveling from St. Louis to Singapore. We helped her find her connection flight to B*eijing in MSP, and we even all went to lunch together. She was very sweet!

We met a couple of our travel companions yesterday too! It was really funny how we met the first couple. As we were waiting at our gate at the airport, I saw a couple sit across from us. Now they were a younger couple, and the woman had a money wallet hanging from her neck. Just like me! For some reason, I thought, they are going to China. But I wasn't sure what a tactful way was to ask. Well, God did the introducing for us! As Chad & I were sitting there, one of Chad's co-workers walked by and yells out "CHAD IRISH!" He was so surprised to see someone he worked with at the airport! Anyway, we chatted with him for a couple minutes, and then turned back around. The couple across the way were looking at their itinerary. The one from CHI that we are supposed to print out and keep with us. I recognized it right away! I practically ran over to the poor woman! She had a huge smile! She said I wondered if you guys were going to China! And when that man said Irish, I knew it sounded familiar. I thought you might recognize this so I pulled it out!! So we sat and talked to them while we waited for our flight! We also meet up our other friends, the Fairbanks, that we had met earlier at P.F.$ Changs. It was so awesome to have travel buddies!! To share this awesome experience with the entire route!! Very cool!!

When we did get to Be*ijing, picked up our luggage, and met our guide, we went to go get in the minibus to go to the hotel. There weren't any seats near Chad, so I sat on his lap. In my defence, we had been traveling for 24 hours, and I had had little sleep. But I thought for some reason it would be ok to sit on his lap for what I thought was going to be a quick run to the hotel. Well, the hotel ended up being 30 minutes away, but the guide was so sweet. She said, "uuummm, lap no good. We need to find you a seat." Secretly, I'm thanking her, because there is no way I could have lasted 30 minutes on Chad's lap! But it made me smile! Just thought it was so sweet.

We did get to talk to Keegan this morning. As of now, he is going to be Superman. I will keep you posted on this events!!

Thank you again for everyone's kind words in the guestbook!! I'm going to start getting ready, we are going to the Great*Wall today!!!

Everyone have a great day!! And Happy Halloween!!

What will he be?? What will he be???

As Halloween quickly approaches, we are curious to see,

Just to see what Keegan decides to be?

Will he be a Superman, Batman, Mr. Incredible, Fighter Pilot, Monkey or Ghost,

We have no idea, but he'll be it with the most!!

He told his friends at breakfast he was going to be Spiderman, which makes me giggle,

We don't have that costume, so it would put Grandma & Grandpa in a pickle!

What will he be? What will he be??
Guess we will have to check back and see!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Happy Treating!!

Keegan's New Pet

In the before mentioned Goody Bag, there also was a Jelly*Belly Gummy Pet Alligator. It was noted that this was for Keegan. Keegan and the 'Gator hit it off!! He decided to keep him as a pet, and not to eat him.

**Update** Keegan withheld from eating 'Gator for about a whole 5 minutes. Then it was just too much! Said 'Gator is now missing a bite, I mean piece, of his tail and snout.

T H A N K Y O U!!!!

Huge gigantic THANK YOU to George and Dawn!! You remember George & Dawn. Recent Gold Medalist's in the Cana Olympics 2008. Well, in between training and Gold medalist gigs, they dropped off a Goody Bag for the plane trip for Chad & I!!! Can you believe the goodies!! And in the spirit of the gift, Chad & I promise not to fight over the Junior Mints. Do Junior Mints make anyone else smile??? Who remembers that Seinfeld episode?? Classic!!

Seriously, though, Thank you Dawn & George!! Thank you so much! Thank you for your prayers, words of encouragement, and support. Through this entire process!

Thought I would share this picture...

Keegan's Packing Update

Keegan is officially packed! I am too embarrassed to show you a picture of the suitcase. Let's just say, it's FULL!! And we let him take Big Red. The ginormous suitcase I bought to be our family suitcase. I actually pretty much let him take whatever he wanted to take. I didn't want him to have a meltdown with my Mom because something wasn't in there.

So Keegan has Big Red, his regular travel suitcase, and his Cars backpack. No, no he's not going to China. Just Galesburg. Galesburg, Illinois. But he's happy and that's all that counts with this Momma!

Keegan has been packing...

Should I suggest to him that he may want to throw some clothes in there???
Oh, wait. He saved a spot. Carry on, Keegan, carry on...

Last Saturday Night as a Trio

Chad, Keegan & I went to Chuck E. Cheese tonight to celebrate! We were celebrating our last Saturday night as a trio!! Next time we go we will be a quartet!! And let's give a shout out thank you to the person that puts the coupons online!

Have you seen or smelled this??

Have you seen this dish soap in the stores?? I found ours at a local supermarket. I had never heard of it before, though, until recently when a friend told me about it. She had gotten some for her birthday. As soon as I smelled it, I was hooked! The smell reminds me of a Grandma and days gone by. It is amazing!! I saw it this morning and HAD to get it! They also had hand soap, but I refrained.

So if you see it in a store, give it a whiff! It's definitely worth the stop!!

Five Days!!!

Don't mind me, just taking this opportunity to send some subliminal messages to my husband...

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch this morning with Keegan's school. It was a lot of fun!! The bus driver took the long route to get there, which made me want to hit him with my purse on the way off the bus, but I refrained! Keegan had a lot of fun, and got to pick out a pumpkin!!

Because sometimes you just have to smile...

Do They Have Salsa in China? has a hilarious post on there, I had to share. Seriously, sometimes you just have to smile and grab the camera...

Keegan's outfit

Keegan has started showing an interest in which clothes he wants to wear every day. He usually would put on what I laid out for him, but the past couple days we have had a difference of opinion. This is what he wore today. To school. What are you going to do?? It kind of matched. I probably wouldn't have put it together, but he seemed pleased. That's what's important right??
Sidenote - Like how he is sticking out his tongue out at me for his pose for taking the picture???

Charlie*Brown Pine Tree

As I am outside enjoying this beautiful day trying to get over the Cowboys loss, I can't help but notice our pine tree. It is loosing all it's needles. I'm hoping this is normal, and not a sign of what's to come. This poor tree has been through so much this year. Last winter, during the terrible ice storms, it suffered some damage. The tree's top completely broke off, crashing to the ground. On it's way down it took out the other branches on one whole side. That's when I started calling it the Charlie*Brown Pine tree. Very close resemblance. Anyway, while I still don't enjoy it dropping it's sap on our cars in the summer, I would be sad if we had to cut it down.
It's such a funny looking tree, it always makes me smile!
