Riddle me this Tails!

Both of my children have LOVED this book! In fact it was a gift from an Aunt & Uncle to Keegan because their son loved it so much!

What I don't understand is why the author made it so 'easy' to destroy!
Of course it could be my children...

This page has been taped, re-taped, and taped again. Seriously, who can resist those 'wagging' tails??? Just got to pull them out!!
(FYI- I know where the second fox tail is. It's under KaeKae's toddler bed. Figure it's safer there!)

And a 'swatting' tail?? That can't be resisted at all!! Unfortunately (or fortunately), piggie tails are currently MIA. Perhaps they will show up in the move...

First Purchase for the New House

I found these lampshades at Garden Ridge. They were originally 3 for $12.99. I saw them on the clearance rack for $4.99. They rung up for...(wait for it)...$1!!!! 3 for $1! Got to love it!

I like the chandelier. I just kept feeling like it was missing something. When I put on the lampshade it instantly looked better. Softens it up a little. They are a rust color with tan embroidered vines. Love the color, the shape of the shade, and the tan ties into the walls!

Lights off...

Lights On!
I'm pretty pleased with my purchase. Feeling like this is going to be alot of fun making this house a home. I am feeling overwhelmed a little. Some rooms, I feel like the design ideas I go with are going to flow into the other rooms. So I need to take more than one room into consideration. Which makes decisions more difficult, I think. I'm sure it will all come together. How could it not with a design style like Asian Contemporary Country?!?!?

Stunt Double

We had a Mom's Night Out with the MOPS group. It was a lot of fun. I did go with Momma Guilt, though, because KaeKae did not want me to leave. But I never received a phone call, so I assumed all was well. Which it was. But I guess Chad must have missed me too, because I came home to this...

My Stunt Double!!! Thanks for sitting in for me Ba*by T*a*d!!

Katie Stories

So Katie still will not keep her diaper on! It's getting worse! I ask her if she doesn't want to wear a diaper, then she should go in the big girl potty. She doesn't want to do that either. Yesterday she did tell me a couple times when she had to go, but she had already gone in her diaper. Just not quite sure what to do about this?!?!

A cute story is that Katie calls snacks " 'nacks". So I will ask her, "What would you like for breakfast?" And she said, "Hhhhhuuuummmmmm. 'Nacks!" I told her we can't have 'nacks for breakfast. She said, "Hhhhhhhuuummmm. 'Nacks!" Ok, guess we'll go with choice between two! ;-)

Hello! Remember me???

Hello! We are still here! We have closed on the other house and in the process of selling our house. The Open House went really well, and we have seen alot of interest. We did receive an offer, but it was pretty low and only being on the market for 5 days, we felt we needed to be a little bit closer on price.

We plan on trying to unload the first POD today. Alot of the stuff that was in storage and toys. I'm really enjoying trying to figure out how I'm going to decorate the new house. It's a nice house, but it needs some updating. I'm thinking I might try and do one room every couple of months. That way to make it easier on the pocketbook and to not feel too overwhelmed. I do have big plans for the kitchen though!! Right now I'm working on convincing my husband that it would look great with the cabinets painted black. He's coming around...

The kids are excited about the new house! Excited about their new rooms! I'm really hoping that the transition goes smoothly...

Princess My Costume Be Not

How could this have happened?? It all started out innocent enough.

Run through Tar^get.

Oh look, they have Hallow**n costumes out. Let's wander through them and see if we get any ideas.

And then it happened. My princess, my ladybug fairy, my little yellow duckie. No.

Her father picked up the Yod@ costume and showed it to Keegan. Keegan's eyes LIT up!! "DAD!! Katie could be Yod@ and I could be this St#rs W#rs guy!!"

I had hoped the excitement would die down, but it just seems to be picking up intensity. And to make matters worse, Katie is now answering to Yod@ and trying out the Life Saber.

Why fight it? It actually would be pretty cute since Keegan is so much taller than she is. She actually would make a pretty good Yod@. Do you think I could 'girl' it up with a pink bow on one of his/her long green ears???? What am I worried about? She will probably insist on taking several of her purses with her - that will 'girl' it up just fine!!

PS - Sorry about the poor Yod@ impression in the title of the post. I try...

More Updates & A Quiz

~Keegan~
Keegan thinks Bey*once's voice is "Hot!" Chad & I were quite surprised to hear him use this phrase. I did not understand that slang was part of the kindergarten curriculum. Originally Keegan told us that Bey*once was hot. But when I asked when did you see Bey*once, he changed it to her voice was hot. A couple days later, Keegan was playing with one of his neighborhood buddies. His buddy came inside looking for his sister's friend. He had drenched himself with water and said he was trying to look "Hot!" Gotta love it!

~Katie~
Katie's favorite songs right now are Itsy Bitsy Spider and All the Single ladies by Bey^once. When she hears the latter come on the radio she immediately raises her hands and starts raising the roof. It is so cute!! She also will 'sing' along to Tay^lor Swift's "With Me". Also, adorable.

Katie has also figured out the child proof locks. I have the REAL good ones on the chemicals, so those are still safe. But the pots and pans could be in trouble...

Also, today is a VERY special day! Can anyone guess what anniversary it is????? Anyone, anyone...

Updates & Big News

Got a lot of things going here. Mostly want to document so that one day I can look back and laugh. Really. laugh.

~ Keegan ~
Keegan is really enjoying kindergarten. At first when he would get done with his day, I would ask him what happened and he would tell me, "Nothing." So I asked him if they all just sat around and stared at each other, then? He found this amusing, but still did not share any of the days events. So from now on, he must share 5 things that happen each day at school. It has worked out really well, and I think he actually looks forward to sharing his day. He likes to save the best for #5.

He has been doing really with Katie, and is very protective. I love to watch them play together. And the laugh he can get out of her, is simply hilarious and infectious.

Keegan also has been a huge help with the move (which I will talk more about later in the post). He will still be at the same school, and I assured him that his friends from the 'hood could come over and play. So he is really excited about moving.

~ Katie ~
WOW! Where should I start. Perhaps I'll start with the positive. Hold on, this may take a minute. Just kidding! Katie continues to be VERY active. She will climb anything that stands still, and sometimes things that aren't. This keeps me really on my toes. Speaking of toes, she likes to have hers painted. She requests it. She will point to her toes, point to my toes, and then point to her toes. She tried leaving the house the other day with 4 purses! All on her arms!! I thought Chad was going to bust a gut he found it so amusing. We are also working on making her use her words.

She is doing alot better about sleeping in her toddler bed. Except last night. But all in all, she is doing much better about it. She even napped in it yesterday afternoon. She has been napping in the stroller...

She will not keep her diaper on! It is pure craziness! She will peel her pants and her diaper VERY quickly. Luckily she has refrained from trying to do this in public. But at this point it's only a matter of time. I did go buy her some pull-ups today. So far they have stayed on...

~Big News~
The big news is that we are moving. Chad & I have bought and sold several houses, and this will be the first time we have sold a house and bought one in the same town. I'm excited about the move, but sad about leaving our super nice neighbors. And with children being involved, I wonder if we are doing the right thing. I think we are, though, and I think it's all going to work out fine. Also, hoping that we sell our house quickly!! Anyone interested in buying a cute house in a really great school district??? ;-)

Well, I have got to get back to packing and cleaning. And MOPS starts this week!! I am so excited to see all the Mom's again!!
