Meeting up at Lincoln Park

While we were in Galesburg, we were able to meet up with Mike & Penny, plus Jadie & Jaxson. I've known Mike since forever. And Penny is one of those awesome people that automatically makes you feel comfortable and she is so down to earth. I feel so blessed to have them as our friends.

PS - Katie did finally get down from the swing. She then started playing in the sand.
I am still trying to get all the sand out of her shoes!
Thanks for a great visit! We loved seeing you guys!!!

Meeting Alpacas

We went to Galesburg last week briefly for Keegan's Spring Break. We got to go see my friend Trisha, whom I known since the summer before 6th Grade. Trisha and her husband raise Alpacas. The kids and I have never met Alpacas, so we thought it would be fun to go see them! They were so cute!! Trisha even let us feed them! So fun!

Keegan apprehensive, Katie wanting to get closer...

Katie getting closer...

Keegan dashing in front of Katie to protect her! The Alpacas are harmless, but I thought it was so sweet!! So glad I caught it on film...

Miss Trisha telling the kids about the Alpacas...

Feeding the Alpacas treats...

Watching how it's done and working up the nerve...

They are cute, aren't they??

Still marveling at the Alpaca and trying to work up the nerve to feed them...

Brave enough to try and feed them.
Katie is saying, "Come here kitty. Come here."

Keegan & I giggling at Katie calling them kitty's. But she's still trying, "Come here. Come here."

Very persistant. "Come here kitty. Come here."
She is waving them to come here with her hand.

Still trying to entice them...

Katie and I did end up feeding one. She got her fingers pinched (they only have teeth on the bottom of their mouths) because she tried to give them one little itty bitty grain of feed. But I showed her how to lay her hand out flat with the feed in her palm. We fed them together. Keegan decided against feeding them because it was the big one, and not the little one. I was really proud of him for trying!

Thanks Trisha for such a fun time! It was great to see you!!
And I can't wait until July when we meet the little bundle of joy!!!

Healthcare Reform

With all the Healthcare talk, we decided to start going old school at our house. That's right, we brought out the old green plastic cup. It was good enough for our parents, it's good enough for us! You probably remember how this works. You set the cup on top of your head, and it removes all that is ailing you! Fabulous!!

Here Katie is suffering from a blister on her toe...

It can be tricky to keep the cup on your head...

Keegan is suffering from a tummy ache (can you tell by the BIG grin!), and Katie is still worried about that blister on her toe.
Happy Friday!!
And may the Green Cup be with YOU!!

More of the Gang

Can you hear me now??
We walked out to the car and I noticed with a conference of over 5,000 Moms, we were the only ones parked in this area. I did park close to the exit, hoping to cut down on any waiting. But I couldn't understand why no one else would have parked near us. Until I looked closer to the sign that I parked in front of, and basically adorned the rest of the spaces in this section...

Oh well. What can you do? At least there was no ticket and my car was still there!! Should I push my luck for next year???? ;-)
See you next year Hearts at Home!! Thank you so much for the fun day!!
