My Dad's Birthday
Today would have been my Dad's birthday. At least that's what I thought. Until I talked to my Mom this afternoon and found out it was yesterday. He would have been 57. I guess we all make choices. Unfortunately with his choice, the rest of us have to live with the consequences. My Mom was asking me for a document, and I was searching for it. I did not find the document, but I did find a bunch of pictures. Those made me smile. It was of my family. And in the '80's. How could you not smile?? I would post, but our scanner is not working. Or is it? I guess we'll never know...

Katie Update
Well, Katie's been home 3 months. We have met with the social worker, gotten her birth certificate from the states, and gotten her a social security card. We also got the paperwork that she is officially a US citizen, which was extremely critical to obtain the previous two achievements. She is crawling around here and pulling herself up on things like a mad woman. She is extremely busy, and keeps a tight schedule. She enjoys to read and eat books. She can stand up by herself, and lower herself back down very well. She points and will direct you where she wants to go or what she wants to see. She says Momma, Mom, Dadda, Keeg, Eat, Top Top (stop stop), night, cheese, yes, this, and that. She gives high fives and will give kisses. Her smile will melt a room, and get her anything she wants. (VW bug, here we come!) Her nicknames are Katie, KaeKae, Sister, Sis, and Girlfriend. She will smile anytime she sees a camera. That is also when she says cheese...
She is growing like a weed. I've had to rearrange her bedroom because she was already able to reach the pictures hung on the wall. And is also why it seems like she's never in the same clothes twice. She is outgrowing them, and I pull out the next size bigger...
She is just a blessing. And to watch her and Keegan together is another blessing. They love each other so much. And they usually show it, but sometimes...

Cookie Update
Now, I'm not saying I'm ready for my own show. But take a look at these beauts (said in your best Crocodile*Hunter voice)!!

SNOW DAY!!!
Today was a snow day - NO SCHOOL!! Keegan actually was bummed. Which I'm taking as a good sign, since we've been having some school issues. Anyway, the neighbor kids didn't have school either. So we got a polite knock at the door, asking if they could slide down our hill. They invited Keegan to come out too. I told them it was no problem, sled away! Keegan built up some courage and then went out. I kept going and checking on him since Katie was napping.

Courage on full, and going down the hill!

Keegan before he went out. He didn't understand why the picture before he went out, but I told him that I always take a picture of him before he goes out to play in the snow for the first time.

Building up courage by sitting in the driveway on sled.
Courage on full, and going down the hill!Alright, well, I am off to make chocolate chip cookies. From scratch. Those who know me please keep the laughter down to a dull roar. Why? I'm really craving some cookies. I mentioned it to Keegan. His response, "Mom you always come up with the best ideas on snow days!" Man, I love that kid!
Keegan & I's version of The Stinkeye
My friend Tori suggested that Keegan and I show our best Stinkeyes (or Hairy eyeballs as my friend Anna calls them). I thought it was a great idea and Keegan agreed. Obviously, we both still need to work on them. But that's a good thing, right?? Means we don't use them...
Also, I should throw a disclaimer in here. These photos are not pretty (although Keegan's is kind of cute). They are not meant for small children. We do not mean to frighten or create any nightmares...

Happy Chinese New Year!!
Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!
We had a pretty busy, but very fun weekend. Mine started Thursday night with a Mom's night out for MOPS. We had a movie night and watched Mama Mia. And actually, it turned out to be a pretty good movie! I went in with low expectations, though. I don't think the reviews were very high for it. Actually, Chad & I have watched a couple movies lately. Maybe I should do a movie review. I'll save that for another day...
Friday night we had dinner at friends, very fun!! Thank you for having us!! And then Saturday morning, breakfast with friends! Also, very fun! Sunday we attended a Birthday Party for Rooney!! Rooney is almost exactly 3 weeks older than Keegan. It was a lot of fun, and Keegan always enjoys seeing Roon.
And because no post would be complete without some pics...
Opening Presents
Celebrating!!

Lots of running...

Big smiles, Kae Kae absolutely adored LuLu puppy!

We had some friends from Church over this morning. It was alot of fun, and the kids all played very well together. There was ALOT of running around. They were even so sweet to include Katie in their play, and named her "Super Baby".
I also would like to apologize for the quiet week thus far. I've been in kind of a funk. It's been a tough week, and I think I may have had a case of cabin fever. Started feeling better yesterday, after an older woman gave me the stink eye in the post office parking lot. Now, I'm not quite sure why she sent me the stink eye (and it was a really good stink eye too!), but she did. Perhaps she thought I was going to back into her?? I'm not sure exactly where she came from. I was backing up slowly, but I had checked behind me and on both sides. I also have an alarm in my car that lets me know how close I am to objects behind me. No alarms, no visual. And as I'm doing all my checks and rechecks, I see an older woman going about 30 in the parking lot slow down to about 20 to give me the stink eye. At first, I was upset and hurt. I mean, she was the one going racing through the parking lot. But the more I thought about it, it really made me laugh. I think what would make the story funnier is if I could tell you that she was going 30 in the parking lot, but slowed down to 15 once she pulled into the street. But alas, she kept up her speed. And the last I saw her, she was turning a block away (almost on two wheels), and maintaining her speed. So Ma'am, thank you. Thank you for giving me the stink eye and curing my blues. And I do apologize for any wrong doings that I may have done or you may have interpreted that I did. Also, you have a REALLY good stink eye, so if you could give me lessons - that would be awesome!

I was tagged!
I was tagged by TongguMama at Our Little Tongginator. The meme instructed me to open up the fourth photo folder on my computer and then post the fourth picture there...

It was a picture of the home renovations we did to our home in Atlanta. Nothing to crazy, we had a long room in the front of the home that was a dining room living room combo. We put up a wall, and made it a dining room with a separate office. We really liked it. I miss that home. We put alot of ourselves into it. I think we painted every single room in it. By the way, we did end up painting this room a Sage green, and did not leave it like that with just the drywall...

Busy Day Busy Day
Today was a busy day! Hence the title. My morning started at 5 AM. A tad early for me, and I'm going to have to let my employers know about it. Hopefully tomorrow they will decide to sleep a little bit later...
We had MOPS this morning. I found it was very interesting. Discussed praying for your husband. Praying through scripture for him, and not asking God to change him to make him 'perfect' in your own eyes.
Went to lunch at Mc*D's. It was fun!! I was with a couple other Mom's and a woman came up to us and commented on how well behaved our children were. What a nice compliment! We think she may have passed out for most of her meal, thus missing most of our children's behavior. But hey, if she was conscious during the good times - that's AWESOME! We soaked in the compliment, none the less. You don't hear those very often with a table full of 4-5 year old boys! After Miss Complimentar left, the boys started harassing, I mean playing with a girl that was trying to have lunch with her Mom. The Mom told the boys that they were sneaky (they were coming up on the other side of the booth and peeking at the girl). The boys heard they were stinky. Thus warranting more harassment, I mean playing, without them listening to their Mom's to sit down. Keegan told me that the Mom told him he was stinky. The other Mom bust out laughing, and said, "I told them they were sneaky!" We had a good chuckle about that one. So I told her maybe I do need to get Keegan's hearing checked, I thought he just couldn't hear me. She found that amusing.

Posts that you may find enjoyable...
Well, we made it to Wednesday!! Alright!! I've read a couple posts this week that had me laughing out loud! In fact, Chad read one of them last night and was chuckling out loud, I knew exactly which one he was reading. So I thought I would share the links to the post. Enjoy!!

And on the home front, Keegan will be going without TV today. Unfortunately for him, he did not listen during group yesterday. Well, he did say he couldn't make any promises...

The Teacher Says:
Each day I pick up a sheet of paper that tells me what/how Keegan did at school the day before. There is a section at the bottom that reads "The Teacher Says:". Now, usually teacher writes "Had a good day!" Occasionally, we get the "Problems playing during group". Yesterday, was a new one. And I just had to chuckle. Teacher has been his teacher for at least 6 months now. It read:
"A bit wound-up today"
My first thought was, have you met Keegan?? I don't know why it tickled me so, but it just made me laugh. And then this morning, I drop off Keegan and it reads "Problems playing during group." So while Keegan is hanging up his coat at school, I tell him what it says. I also inform him that I better not see it tomorrow, meaning to behave today. Keegan's response??
"I can't make any promises..."
While I stifled a laugh, I let him know that if we see it again there will be consequences. But I mean, really. "I can't make any promises..." Hilarious!!
