1. Keegan was not real excited about getting dressed up for church on Sunday. He looked really cute with his little tie, blue long sleeve shirt, and khaki's. He told us he didn't want to wear a suit. He then informed us that it was like a naughty Halloween. We thought this was such a funny comparison!!
2. We went to our friend's Megan & Al's new home for Memorial Day. Chad & Keegan were loaded in the car. I ran back into the house to grab my purse. Chad used this time to ask Keegan if he knew where Miss Megan and Nadia's house is?? Keegan said he didn't know, but Mom probably knows. And if she doesn't know, then the lady in the radio knows. When Chad shared this conversation with me I cracked up! He was referring to my navigation system. The lady in the radio - classic!
3. Keegan & I were driving somewhere. "Say" by John Mayer came on. If you haven't heard the song, most of the song is, "Say what you need to say" over and over again. Well, Keegan must have been listening, because he just pops out, "Mom, just say what you need to say!" We just kept telling this to each other over and over. Cracked ourselves up!

Visit from Hannah & Nathan

Hannah & Nathan came over to play today. All three of them had a ball together. Some highlights were when Hannah was a giraffe, Keegan a monkey, and Nathan the zookeeper. Also when they were conspiring to get past PJ (somehow known as the cat that bites, which she doesn't, but she is cranky) to get to Rusty. But only Keegan gets to hold Rusty as told by Keegan. In which Hannah chimes in, "Because he's your wittle brother." It was adorable!
Had a really nice Mother's Day. Chad & Keegan made me feel really special. Keegan kept informing us all weekend that we had to be nice to Mom because it's Mother's Day. Pretty funny.
Got mooned by a bird. No, I didn't think it was possible either, but it did occur. For Mother's Day we all went to church together. Chad was driving, I was looking down in my purse. I looked up to see a bird butt right outside the windshield. It luckily got out of the way in time to not get hit, but the memory is still there. I also exclaimed, "Did you guys see that big bird butt?" Which Keegan found extremely humorous. Luckily he did not re-tell the story at church - at least that I know about.

Referrals are out
They came out with Referrals earlier this week. They went through 1/12/2006. Our LID is 2/9/06.
Quick Recap - We sent our paperwork over to China, and the date that we were "officially" logged in (LID) is 2/9/06. Every month China sends out Referrals. The Referrals are the children that have been matched with their forever family. With the referral you receive a picture of your child and their medical records.
They have gotten through 1/12/2006 and our LID is 2/9/2006. So we have exactly 27 days in front of us. But, 7 of those days are "empty", no LID's, due to Chinese New Year. So we have 20 days in front of us. I would hate to make a prediction on when we may receive our Referral. Chad & I have made them, and they have come and gone. We continue to wait.
Thank you to all for your continued support. Just wanted to post an update.

Movie and the Lamp
Well, I went out with some Moms from church Friday night to go see "Made of Honor" and out to eat afterwards. Cute movie, great food, wonderful fellowship. It was a nice night. I got home kind of late, but Chad was waiting up for me. When I walked in I notice that he is sitting in the dark, and that there is a lampshade on the counter in the kitchen. My heart just sank. I asked him how it happened. He said Keegan accidentally knocked it off the table. It didn't shatter, but it did break. Sidenote - No, I probably shouldn't have had a glass lamp, but I found it at Goodwill from Target with the tags still on it. It really was a beautiful lamp, may it rest in peace. Chad told me that Keegan was really upset about it. I asked Chad if Keegan had been hurt, he said no. But Keegan is supposed to talk to me about it in the morning. In the morning Keegan came into our bedroom and climbed on our bed. This is our conversation...
Mom: Good Morning Keegan!
Keegan: Good Morning! Did you walk through the kitchen last night?
Mom: Yes
Keegan: Did you turn your head this way? (demonstrates the head turn)
Mom: Yes
Keegan: Did you see your lamp broke?
Mom: Yes, I did.
Keegan: I did it.
Mom: You did?
Keegan: I'm sorry.
Mom: I forgive you. I'm glad you weren't hurt.
Keegan: Why would I be hurt? I didn't land on it. (said in the tone that I'm a complete idiot)
Mom: (stifling a laugh because my 4 year old thinks I'm an idiot already!) Well, thank you for telling me.
I am so proud of Keegan for "owning" this. Chad & I both told him how proud we are of him. I'm so proud of him, I'm posting it on the blog!! Don't worry, I'm not disillusional to think that this is how it's going to go every time!
Point to Ponder: Do you think it's finally time to start packing up my Isabel Bloom's until the kids are 18 and gone?
